Which Dry Herb Vaporizer is the best one?
(December 16, 2019)
Which Dry Herb Vaporizer is the best one? Well, that depends on you. How and when you intend on using it should determine which one is best for you.
Different types of Dry Herb Vaporizers:
There are many different types of herbal vaporizers available and they are designed with different types of use in mind. Different models of vaporizers have different features and some features are considered better or more desirable than others, but there are always differences of opinion and it really comes down to your own personal preference. Some you can put your "Dry Herb' straight into and vape, some use oils or waxes, and some can be used with all three.
There are portable and desktop types of herb vaporizer. Desktop models plug into the mains power and are best for longer or group sessions with friends and the portables models are quite small and light and are easily to take with you when you go out.
The portable models can be used very discreetly and easily fit comfortably in your pocket or handbag. They look similar to E-cig type of vapes and don’t produce much vapour or smell when used. It’s nothing like smoking herbal cigarettes in public, where everyone in the area will notice what you are doing.
Some models of portable dry herb vape come in a variety of colours too, and look pretty stylish.
Battery life and Charging time:
Something to consider when purchasing a portable dry herb vape is battery life and charging time. Some portable vaporizers have a built in battery that isn’t easily replaceable and others have one that is.
If you will be using the vaporizer regularly or for longer sessions it might be a good idea to purchase spare batteries and a charger if the battery is replaceable. The battery life is measured in mAh, if you look at the specifications of different models the larger the number the longer the battery will last before needing to be recharged. Most vaporizers come with a USB charging cable and some come with a mains power adapter also.
The chamber where you put your dry herb into is another area where vaporizers differ. Most herbal vaporizers now use a ceramic chamber and the general consensus seems to be that this is the best type, however a stainless steel chamber is not to be overlooked and works just as well.
Heating Methods - Convection vs Conduction:
There are two main types of heating method in herb vaporizers, convection and conduction. Both types heat the dry herbs to a temperature that is just below the temperature where the herbs burn (combustion) and produce smoke that is filled with toxicants not present in vapour.
The convection method of heating in herbal vaporizers uses hot air passing through the dry herbs which extracts the effects, and flavour without producing smoke, where the conduction method heats the chamber the herbs are in and is in contact with the herbs themselves.
The popular opinion is that the convection method is the best type of dry herb vaporizer but again, both types work well.
Last but not least is the price. Budget vapes such as the Airis Herbva Viva or Airis Switch start at $70 - $100 and are good entry level, very portable vapes. Prices can range anywhere up to $300 - $400 for the more hi-tech models.
So at the end of the day when it comes to deciding which dry herb vaporizer is the best one, we recommend looking at the overall features of the vaporizer, when and how you intend on using it, and making your own decision which one is the bes tvaporizer for you.
